Large Mats
Individually, a small piece of art can get lost in a room. For maximum impact, use generous mat borders and group pieces together on one wall.

Large and contemporary
This 4" wide traditional moulding from the Klavier collection may not be the first thing that comes to mind for this contemporary artwork, but using a frame like this is a sure way for the art to be taken seriously.
When you know you get it right
When you know you get it right, the right frame on the perfect picture, your audience can't stop look at them.
If you are at the beach...........
For many this time of the year means time at the beach. When you return home, frame a memory such as a shell, sand dollar, coral or a seahorse.

Art up near the ceiling?
Hanging art up near the ceiling may not be the ideal place, but sometimes it is the ONLY place to put it. If you love framed art, you will find a spot for it.

If you love framed art more than books.
If you love framed art more than books, remove a few of those adjustable shelves to recapture lost wall space.

Corners
Corners can add visual interest to how you hang your art. So if you have an angular or small space, fret not! All it takes is some trial and error to get a fantastic result. Use our tips below to use paper before you put holes in your wall!
Hot and Steamy
Hot, steamy bathrooms are not a good environment for expensive artwork, but less expensive reproduction prints like these are fine. When redecorating a bathroom, your art can be the starting point for wall color and accessories.

No matchy, matchy
Frames do NOT have to match your room to look good in it. A gold frame would have matched this room, but would have overpowered the subtle art. This silver frame is perfect for the art and looks great in the room, too.
Never be done with art of value
Designer Kerry Howard chose to turn a single print into a 4 piece grouping for this bedroom. This should never be done with art of value, but is an option for most reproduction prints.

Fun Patterns
Fun patterns are showing up everywhere, including pillows, drapery panels, and upholstery. When custom framing, you can add pattern to your mats by covering them with fabric, wallpaper or even scrapbook paper.

Great Idea!
Here is a great idea for combining a set of images into one frame. Each piece is in its own frame, but the group is united in one larger frame.

Framed Posters
Custom framing of posters helps to elevate their status. The maple frames used on these posters adds a warmth and richness many of the metal or black "poster frames" do not.

Except for the art
Except for the art, this room could be cut down the middle and have a mirror image on each half. Intentionally choosing mismatched framed art, rather than a pair, adds character to a pretty predictable space.
Large Stairway Walls
The large walls in a stairway can be the perfect spot for groupings. An informal arrangement like this one makes it easy to add or change out framed pieces to keep the look fresh.

Contemporary Canvas
Designer Vern Yip used a simple gilded float frame for this contemporary canvas. Notice how this framing, the light fixture and vase bring a fresh look to this traditional dining room.

Think White
Many people would choose black frames for these pieces of art, to "bring out the black figures" but the best way to let the figures stand out is with this white moulding.

White mats, white frames!
Library paneling divides walls into smaller sections and those areas are not always going to be the right relationship to the art you want to display. Shown here, white mats and frames were used and blend into the wall so they seem like a part of the architecture versus an addition that doesn't fit with the paneling.

Small Business Saturday
Mother’s Day is Sunday! Small businesses can help you find the perfect gift for that special person who bought you your first teddy bear or read you your first book. Share this post if you are shopping small for Mother’s Day.
Gallery Wall
I love gallery walls - but most of all I wanted to remember that pin/map idea in the bottom left corner. A much less conspicuous way to keep track of your travels when it's incorporated into a larger collage of art.

High Ceilings
In rooms with high ceilings, go with the flow by hinging sets of framed art one over another. It sets off the art and accentuates a great architectural feature.
