Custom framing can work magic!??
Have we ever shared before about how custom framing can work magic!?? It can! Take this image from House Beautiful Magazine - The designer started with three smaller antique prints... Because the scale was a bit off to hang them as is above the desk, they used an oversize matboard, in the same tone as the artwork to add scale to the pieces, and then custom framed from there! This is a fantastic way to magically make art larger, to fit within a specific space :-)

Custom Framed Art inside Custom Framed Art, COOL!
We're loving this look for a bedroom - custom framed art inside of a frame... And what a way to create a fantastic headboard?!? "Frame" a favorite fabric, and use it as the perfect backdrop to some smaller, complementary works of art. Not only does it help tie the art to the space, creating a perfectly scaled focal point, but it also adds a touch of softness. Perfection!
Art Doesn't Have To Match The Couch
Art does not have to match the sofa! Here is a good example of the three pieces of art not matching each other, and they introduce color we do not see in the room. and it works!
Long and Skinny
Although the artworks leaning on these shelves are lovely, we're drawn to the oversize music art hanging ABOVE the shelving unit. Not only can you create a personal work of art by having a line from a favorite tune enlarged from the sheet music, you can make it even more special by having it custom framed! And who doesn't have a long, skinny space to fill with art?!?

There is always space for one more!
If you love framed art or photos, you can always find somewhere to display it. Although it may not be the ideal viewing position, this space above the bookcase provides a surface to hang quite a few frames.

Mixing color, shape and styles
This grouping consists mainly black and white artwork. Notice how gold, silver and wood tone frames were used, in addition to black frames, to add interest. Mixing sizes, shapes, colors and styles of frames can bring more personality to your wall groupings.

No Room?
If you think you have run out of room for framed art, look again. You may have space within a bookcase. If there are adjustable shelves, shift them around to accommodate the overall size of the framed art you want to display.
Diversity
Although you shouldn't purchase art simply because the colors match your room, of the art you own, it can be arranged effectively by color. Custom framing can help add diversity or unity.

Framed Fabric
Framed upholstery fabric with colorful patterns can make a bold statement on a large wall. This piece is in a float frame, but other styles and colors can be used, too. Make sure the fabric is mounted properly to avoid the wrinkles shown here. A quilt can also be framed to fill a large wall space.

Set the mood
Picture frames can help set the mood of a picture. The right frame should enhance the colors and emotion of the picture. It can also help set the decor of your home or office.
More modern homes can take minimalist frames, while frames made with antique wood complement more rustic homes. No matter your choice, a well-chosen picture frame can make a picture stand out.
