We often have customers that go crazy over some of the amazing mouldings we have to offer for frames, but they can't decide what to put in them. Well, here you go, a beautiful empty frame becomes a major highlight in this room as it sits on the mantel, surrounding an object on the wall. The frame draws attention to the object, which may otherwise go unnoticed.

Do all of my frames need to match if they are on the same wall?
The frames in a grouping do not have to match. Here we see black, gold and silver frames together on one wall. There are also different styles and moulding widths. Planned diversity helps make this wall interesting.

Unframed Canvases tend to look unfinished
Unframed canvases tend to look unfinished on the wall. The right framing enhances the art and even can help elevate its perceived value. In this case a minimal float frame is just enough to help the paintings look great on the wall.

Blending
Blending this narrow frame with the color of the adjacent mat border prevents it from looking skimpy. If the frame was a contrasting color, a wider moulding would look much better.
Another Satisfied Customer
Customer's Tess Hand-Bender and her husband Bill had us frame this original oil painting that turned out to be was painted by one of my former employees Carl Bork. Please check out Carl's website carlbork.com, Tess and Bill bought their painting on line from Carl's Estsy shop. Carl and his wife Karen now live in Salida, Colorado where they opened a gallery.

Choose something you love
Choosing art to fit a room can be a science in itself. Obviously, you want to choose something you love, but when you love several pieces, look for unique ways the art can relate to the space. Here the lines in the art reflect the lines of the home's architecture.

Flank a large piece of furniture with framed art.
Flank a large piece of furniture with framed art. It adds interest to the room and helps soften the transition from the dimension of the furniture to the flatness of the wall.

Generous proportions
A generously proportioned stacked moulding combination is the perfect thing to balance this painting with the large scale of the furnishings in the room. Everything in the space is large and heavy looking. A narrow frame moulding would have looked skimpy and out of place.

Framed Art over the Headboard
A headboard helps make the bed a focal point in a room. Framed art displayed over the head of the bed can do the same thing. Choose one large piece or several smaller pieces to create a center of interest in your room.

Leaning frames and work when there is a cohesive element
Leaning frames and work when there is a cohesive element - like the black and white pictures with black frames.
Up To Date Look!
Brian Patrick Flynn, designer, creator of Design Demon and TV Producer, found the perfect piece of art to coordinate with his furniture selections. Notice how the figure 8 shape in the art relates to the round shapes of the table and chairs. The overall look is up to date, yet a bit retro.

Themed Groupings
Themed groupings, such as these framed figurative drawings, are nice, but in this case it's the mirror, in a chunkier frame, that adds an unexpected touch. Notice how the mats and frames do not match, but they all work well together on the wall.

Metal Gears as art?
This "art" is a grouping of individual metal gears. The frame design is a stacked combination of one gold and one rust profile from our new Foundry collection. Foundry frames are perfect for this industrial look, but subtle enough to work with many colors, styles and subjects.
